After publishing my last post, my mindless walking around Lakeview continued. I ended up back at Osmium Coffee and since I still don't like coffee, I ordered a cinnamon bun (for $3.75). As I was doing this, I realized that this was kind of a stupid move on my part because Ann Sather's -- a Chicago restaurant famous for their cinnamon buns -- is a few blocks away. It seems highly likely to me that Osmium just gets their cinnamon buns from Ann Sather's so I should have just gone directly to the source, or even if they don't, it means I can get better and cheaper buns down the road. Basically, it just reminded me that I need to go back to Ann Sather's. It was a good cinnamon bun but I'm obviously going to get something different the next time I go. I did notice that one of their blends of coffee that they sell is called Unicorn Tears and I liked that because I knew that that is 100% the coffee I would drink if I drank coffee.
Rehearsal went well. I'm starting to get to know the cast -- most of whom thought I'd given them a fake name during my audience participation bits last night (why they thought I would repeatedly go with Thomson if that wasn't my actual name is beyond me). I stayed late to help vacuum the house and let me tell you, this vacuum that we have is like the first vacuum ever made. It is an antique. I got a full body workout in. It has an actual bag! Even though I left later, public transportation was in my favor and it didn't take me nearly as long to get home last night so that was a win.
There was an even bigger win waiting for me at home though -- if you read my last post, you know that I found a WiFi network at the library called Sex Dungeon and the title of this post is an ode to that because MY APARTMENT NOW HAS WIFI. Win. So, I went for shock value with the title but it really means MY TIME IN THE WIFI!!! (I also completely buried the lead several paragraphs deep so you would have to keep reading to find out what I was talking about). When I got home last night, Janell informed me that our WiFi had been properly installed. She'd given the network a far more appropriate name (MonticelloHouse) and a good proper password.
Excited but mainly hungry, I ended up making myself a late night dinner and sort of acted out the book If You Give a Mouse a Cookie if it were If I Make Myself a Quesadilla at Midnight. Post dinner, I passed out.
This morning, I woke up to a thunderstorm, which was nice to watch from my kitchen since I didn't have to go out. It has cleared up now so I think I'm going to head to the library (Logan Square, not sex dungeon Lakeview) because Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire has finally arrived! Happy day!
